I LOVE this book! When I was in pre-school, my parents would read it to me every other week. They tell me that even before I spoke my first word, I would point to the pictures as they read the book.
When I read it: Pre-School
Story: Super, simple
Illustration: Colourful and funny
Overall (parents' view): Great book for pre-school kids, its one of those that help them love books and reading time!
Great Illustration, Simple Story
What I like most is the book's artwork. Martin’s illustrations are soft, colourful, and full of detail. The images run with the text perfectly, showing various imaginative children expressing themselves in every way possible. The story ends with a funny illustration of children dressed up as different 'things' at the end of the book including a moon, a fairy, a robot
The illustrations use gentle colours and simple shapes, and I remember the fun and ideas on the pages. Each page invites readers to linger and explore the details, making the reading experience interactive and engaging.
After the book...
My mom reminds me that she used to use the last page of the book to share with me how I can do anything that I set my mind to do. Here are some questions that are from here that you can use:
What do you want to be when you grow up?
What qualities do you think are important in a friend?
How can you be kind to others?
Why This Book Stands Out
Parents' view: Many children’s books focus on specific careers or achievements, but this book takes a different approach. We chose it because emphasizes character and possibility over outcomes. Emily reminds readers that the future is not fixed. It is shaped by choices, dreams, and the kindness we show to others.
Final Thoughts on The Wonderful Things You Will Be
The Wonderful Things You Will Be is more than a children’s book. It is an invitation to imagine a future full of hope and kindness.
